Nirvana - Come As You Are
What a beautiful, iconic riff. It’s hard to believe that Nevermind was released 35 years ago. I saw Nirvana at Reading in 1992, less than two years before Kurt Cobain died. It remains one of those gigs I am so glad I saw.
Edit: Reading, 1992, it looks like Krist Novoselic played a Thunderbird, so I’m playing the right shaped bass

Holy shit Duncan. That Redding set is one of the iconic shows for that whole era of music. Well played, I don’t know if it’s the way it’s EQ’d but the D-Roc is overpowering here almost to the point of being muddy. Really hope it’s just the mix because I’ve already started tucking money away for one.

Yep, and I can genuinely say that, “I was there…” I remember when Cobain came on in the wheelchair, then fell to the stage. My friend and I looked at each other … we’ve been here all day for this? Then he got up and the crown errupted!
The other band I really remember from that day were L7 - what happened to them? They were fantastic!
It’s the way I EQed it. I always seem to have problems getting the levels right for a new bass. I have also bought some new strings for it as, certainly the E is pretty dead. I need to find 30 mins and change them!
The EQing issue has also got me wondering if I should buy a better multi-effects pedal … google took a pounding this morning 
Do it!!! I’m a proud proponent of second hand. I bought the D-ROC from a semi-professional bassist last weekend. It had been well looked after - no scratches or dings - and is set up nicely. He had 2 of them, but was selling this one to part fund a Dingwall SP-1. I got a good deal on it, and could easily sell it for what I bought it for, if I wanted too. I don’t want to sell it, but if it were necessary, then no money would be lost. So I say, save the pennies / cents etc. It feels lovely, is lighter than my Combustion, looks cooler than the Combustion. All in all, I’m really pleased. Not selling the Combustion though
