@terb definitely influenced by bands like Tool and Deftones back then.
@T_dub thanks man. Yeah Sean never made it past that infamous 27 he passed in true fashion letting substance abuse get the best of him
When I was 20, I honestly wanted to be in the 27 club. didn’t happen, I had a daughter instead, so by that time, I skipped wanting to be in the 33 club.
Honestly my wife and kids saved my life back in the later part of our days as a band.
@TNKA36 thanks Brian
Kids for sure, not so sure the X wife did much for saving it. She rather me dead now anyway, but my kids are the world to me.
@T_dub I am sorry to hear about your ex but those kids need you around brother.
Otherwise known as Larry got a new bass…
Great performance Lester! Admittedly not the type of music I would listen to every day but I can appreciate the work put in to the song. Thanks for posting it.
Thats your original song? That is a bad ass bass tone, love it.
Thank you, yeah I came up with the riff practicing some slap technique and then wrote the guitar around it. Lead wise I had no idea what to play so I hit record and just played…thats the first pass. Since I didn’t have lyrics I decided to add cheesy pickup lines at the end of every verse that you might hear at last call. Glad you like the tone…I like it too that fernandes is a wonderful guitar.
Yeah, that is sick, I was playing the bass line, cuz I liked it so much.
I can’t get the tone with my bass straight into the computer thru the DAI, with no amp or effects, but it is still a cool line.
excellent, @Tokyo_Rat and again very JSBX-ish !
thank you…I must be on the right track
I love that you are making/composing entire songs - awesome!
The challenge with any computer drum track is that it becomes quickly too “monotonous” (for me) - but to add in more variety requires a lot of extra programming/fine-tuning. For example, while there is a lot of “space” early on, I would a few fills here and there later on.
Also, by way of constructive criticism, I would consider putting in a Bridge, again to break the “mold” a bit somewhere in the middle of the song.
(By the way, I was listening to your pre-version from a few days ago… if you have added a bridge or more fills since then, my apologies!)
yep the weakest part for sure…I use a drum loop and there is not much more I can do with that. I just press start and stop. I’ll experiment with adding adding a bridge, so far it has been just verse and chorus except for instrumental which seem to be a very long verse done 3 or 4 times…thanks for the suggestions.
I will throw one more original from our demo in 2003 up here. It is literally just called Track 3 we never really named the song lol IF anyone wants a copy of of the songs send me a private message. We never sold the album except through Interpunk records and we only sold them for a dollar then. Jagermeister used to cover all of our studio costs and production costs at the time so we just wanted to get heard.

Hey @Tokyo_Rat,
Loved the laid back dark tone of the bass Cruzin along in the back ground along with the drums, while the bluesy guitar work ebbed and flowed out front.
Cool vocals worked well with the composition
Cheers Brian
thank you, struggled with the make up of the bass line what to put in what to leave out, struggled finding a tone that was suitable…ended up with the EB3 going right into the board with a touch of reverb …glad that you liked it, glad somebody liked it…my wife was like “oh, blues huh”…LOL
