Post your original songs/compositions!

Nicely done. I really like the mix and the solo sounded like it was fun to do.

Nice use of synth!

Hey @joergkutter - well done man!
Seeing as its impossible to start at the end, starting at the beginning and nailing the basics is ‘the way’.
I thought it was great, keep it up!

Beautiful sound textures on this!

Also, another quick comment. I can relate to it when you say that your ambition is way ahead of your skills.

Thank you for the kind words, gentlemen (@brik1970 @howard @John_E @StevFargan)

I am talking to a guitar player on Fiverr at the moment to see what kind of guitar solo one can “buy” these days, and how easy/convenient the process is. I intend to post an updated version here if/when that plan pans out

OK, here is a double header:
The first one I had posted already a while back; now slightly extended with, uhm, a bass solo

The second one I posted recently, have since tweaked it a bit and it is now featuring a guitar solo commissioned on Fiverr - I think that came out nice and cost me about 12 bucks

Feedback on any aspect appreciated!

I really like how Triangulation is shaping up, very post-rock like in ways.

I wonder how the bassline would work plucked or picked. Not saying it is bad with the slap - just that i would be interesting to hear it with the other methods. Given the simplicity of the bassline (which fits the song well) I am wondering if they would work better.

Interesting suggestion. I had thought about it, but the tune started off as an exercise for me to get a bit more into slap, and so I never “heard” it in my inner ear with a plucked bass. But, yeah, maybe I’ll explore that at some point.
For now, I have new song ideas to work on already

I just got a chance to listen to the “double header”. Very nice on both songs.

My inner muse is kind of quiet recently, which is a big bummer, as I want to start on some original stuff.

It’s like I can’t get my inner monologue to STFU most of the time but when I want it to come out it trolls me

It’s a huge step from what is going on inside your head to getting it into a shape and form that (sort of) reflects what you were imagining.

My inner voice is constantly doodling also, but it never accounted to more than scraps of recorded material. I think I finally broke out of that “block” by forcing myself to finalize at least one tune. After the first, the second was both easier and more fun, and I am now re-visiting some of these old scraps while keeping a wary eye on the ever-growing heap of new scraps :joy:

Thanks, Jerry. I don’t do covers like you and many others - so these are my (current) artistic outlets

Yeah. One thing I really wish is that I had saved MIDI files of my parts from our band’s old songs. Those hard drives are long gone

Is everything gone? Or could you moises and convert-to-MIDI the heck out of your recordings from then??

I’ll probably do the video later…just another song of surrender

All that we have left are some live recordings that are remarkably shitty and pretty useless, unfortunately.

Hmm this does give me a good idea though, just start with remaking the old songs.

Yeah, totally - go for it! I have plans to remake one from 30+ years ago  Main ideas preserved, but updated instrumentation and arrangements!

Your creativity is fantastic @joergkutter.
I cannot get my inner voice to say anything, need to clear out the inner voice thinking about work and engineering all the time.

I dig the second one a lot, esp the bass playing, keep 'em coming.

Everything sounds great, however, this one feels a little bubble gum pop-ish musically vs. the lyrics and theme of the song, at least for me. A bit too happy vs. lustful surrender, sexy…
