SAG - Selling Aquired Gear

The Irish Ale over ash was only offered for a couple of years before G&L went to solid colors over a poplar body. My ASAT special has the same finish.

FWIW the combination of the MFD pickup in the “sweet spot” creates a very powerful mid forward tonality when dimed but as with all MFD pickups simply rolling back the volume tames it nicely creating a mellower tonality. The bass is 100% passive but offers a 3 way switch for Series, Parallel, and Single Coil settings. The neck is satin finished with 1.5" nut width.

Thank you. The grain shows much better in person.

Drum City/Guitarland in Wheat Ridge is a big G&L dealer. They should have quite a few models there to try.

Yep, that was what I meant. It’s right by 70 / Kipling.

Some of what I want to check out besides the general how does this guitar feel to play are the weight (I’ve read these Kilos are beasts) and I have yet to play one of Leo’s designs and have it really click with me. Those MFD’s in theory seem like they’d be ideal for me. I’m pretty stoked to try one out finally. That red really is stunning.

Try and try a BB while out

It’s on 44th street a little south and a little east from I70/Kipling. That’s where I bought the bass to begin with. I can weigh it again but as I recall it’s under 9lbs. Maybe 8.5lbs?.

Some G&L go 10lbs and more but I have never owned one that was over 9lbs.

Can’t find one in any of the guitar shops in the Denver metro area. I’ve played 234 and 434’s.

Oh that’s awesome. My BB300 is a tank and I can handle it but the Rev is under 8 and I’m finding that I like them light.

You’re welcome to take a little road trip and come on up to Ft Collins to check mine out. It’s nice up here and I’m on the far south end of town just about 60 miles from downtown Denver. Takes about an hour or so to drive up here now that the express lanes have been completed from Berthoud north.

Decided to keep the Melda stuff, may sell later, plus MTurboCompLE is actually quite good (and @wellbi reminded me it is the only Distressor model I actually own). Down to this now:

iZotope

Ozone 9 Advanced + Tonal Balance Control - $65
VocalSynth 2 - $30
Nectar 3 Plus - $30
All three - $100

Added Ozone.

Ozone I find quite interesting. But that’s an old version, right?

Yes, current version is 11. The retail for it is $400. (It goes on sale for half to 2/3 that IIRC).

If you check Knobcloud for prices on 9 Advanced this is competitive.

(Sold Pigments via Knobcloud, basically down to iZotope products for the moment)

Added some really great d16 plugins that I just don’t use.

d16 Group

Nepheton 2 (Roland TR-808) - $75
Phoscyon 2 (Roland TB-303) - $75
Will also trade one of the above for d16 LuSH-2.

iZotope

Ozone 9 Advanced + Tonal Balance Control - $65
Nectar 3 Plus - $30
Both - $75

Have you seen the new Nithonat 2?

Yeah! TR-606 is a good choice. I am keeping Drumazon 2 though and I prefer the 909 to the 606.

Yeah I like Drumazon also best. Much dirtier than the 303 and probably the 606.

(sold Repeater)

909s were just everywhere and it’s overall a more usable sound than an 808 IMO.

The 303 just is what it is. Iconic and genre-defining, but not something I would use much, and if I do, I have other options for insane filter resonance bleeping.

Yeah that is pretty much what it is. I’m pretty happy with Nepheton and Acid V from Arturia.
