SAG - Selling Aquired Gear

I need help, I have a hard time parting with stuff I thought I would want but actually didn’t agree with me! I have so much stuff, bass related and not that I thought if I don’t like it, I’ll sell it. I procrastinate, does that make me a hoarder?

Nope, it makes you a procrastinator.

My sons are amazing young men and the 16yo wishes to upgrade to one really good bass for his one and only which means selling his basses and a few of my own to get him there. (He’s better now than I’ll ever be.) There’s also a much better trumpet in the works for his younger brother but I need to also sell his trumpet and the antique Wurlitzer Coronet I had restored for him. Basses available if anyone is interested are as follows…

American Stingray SLO. Lots more pics available. With Music Man hard case. Currently strung BEAD (SOLD)

1981 Yamaha BB1200. Original case. Neck thru (Bought it back. Kept!)

The prettiest Carvin there ever was. With original case. String thru (Traded)

Peavey Grind 5. Import model. Newer tuners and bridges. LaBella gold flats. Passive. Neck thru. (TRADED)

Samick Saturn 5. LaBella tape flats. Passive/active. (SOLD)

Happy to send pics and every little flaw and pricing if genuinely interested.

That BB1200 is a great bass. Someone in the US should snag that.

Like, someone that already has 3 BBs sitting in my guitar rack… but no 1200 yet?

Wow! Those are some nice basses. Is he upgrading to a Fodera?

Even if they all sold I don’t think we’re barking up that tree. Only two are his basses and three are mine. There’s gotta be trumpet money in there too. He’s on the fence between an Ibanez EHB6 string or a Dingwall, but given the financial difference that will depend on what sells!

I only just started saving up my hobby allowance for a Wattplower Mk II but a BB1200 is one of my bucket list basses (admittedly the 1200S version). It’ll be a few paychecks before I’ve saved up enough. If you haven’t sold it by the middle of August, I’ll be a sure thing by then.

Nowhere near Fodera or Mayones range, brother!

$1500 for a Mayones. Cheaper than a Fender Pro eh @eric.kiser

Whereas cheapest used Fodera on Reverb was a lot of cheese.

Finally a Mayones designed to appeal to me.

The active and/or the PJ definitely were more common. I sought out the passive P for a long time.

We are not. Down in Southern California for the time being.

The Mayones bass cited for sale above, for $1500, is a well-used production model that’s 20 years-old. Not apples to apples with current custom Mayones basses.

Still, I’d take it over any Fender, eight days a week. :joy:
