Got a few concerts coming up, the one I’m the most stoked for though, is Heilung.
I just saw that Beth Gibbons (Portishead) is doing a tour in the US this year. I’ll be picking up tix next week when they go on sale, and that’ll be my first concert of the year.
Barry Manilow tickets secured in Montreal on May 30th!
Also our anniversary weekend so we’re making a weekend of it.
I’m going to see my nephew this Saturday performing with Zodiac (local cover band which my nephew joined last fall, they have another guitarist as well for places or nights Mason cannot play). He’s an awesome guitarist and the band is really solid, they play some good rock n roll. Anyone in the Chicagoland or northern Indiana area are welcome to come. Don’t believe there is a cover charge and the food is excellent. Please let me know if you are going, would love to meet some of the local bassbuzz folks.
I just wish Venom would reunite and do one last great album.
Narcotic Wasteland are nice! I always wished that Dallas never left Nile. Was never the same without him. His vocal style was such a great contrast to Karl’s more traditional style.
True love for these Irish guys.
It’s always a great fun to attend the concert.
Bought tickets today to see:
- Nile Rogers & Chic (June 28th)
- Marcus Miller (November 9th)
It’s going to be a great music year!
I’ve seen Narcotic Wasteland before, it will be the first for the others.
I think I’ll be going to see Charles Berthoud tonight. I don’t watch his channel, but I caught a video where he played some bits from this live tour and it sounded good, so let’s see
I’ll also be seeing Nine inch nails this summer and I CAN’T WAIT
I like his solo work, it’s interesting. It’s not all my cup of tea but I can appreciate it.
The show was great! It won’t let me upload a video, but the supporting band were excellent and although not all of Charles’s styles are my favourite, he was impressive. The drummer was also
I saw Charles Berthoud a week ago, with Bernth, on their Escape the Internet tour. It was okay. They are both great and very technical players. However, they also thought they’d turn their show into a “battle”, where they would “decide” who was the best at slapping, at tapping, at playing each other’s instrument, etc. That got old quite quickly, at least, for me. Also, I have to admit that, at the end of the evening, I started to get just a little bit bored.
Opening for them was Ola Englund, and I think I maybe liked him best: it was fast, loud, and short enough to stay interesting.
Edit: what was funny was that at some point they asked, “Who here is a guitar player?” About 50% of the audience raised their hand. “Who’s a bass player?” Maybe 30%. “Any drummers?” Maybe 5% or so. And then their lighting and sound engineer asked, “And who’s a lighting/sound engineer?” And one guy up on the balcony started cheering and waving “Me, me!” Big roar from the crowd, everybody cheering and applauding
Yeah I preferred that part of the show style wise.
Taking the wife to see Maiden Steel on Valentines day! They are a South Florida Iron Maiden band.
In two weeks I’ll be seeing Green Lung. Fantastic stoner rock/metal band with occult/nature themed lyrics. Support will be Unto Others (meh) and Satan’s Satyrs (yay!).
Seen them at Hellfest and opening for Clutch last year
There are just too many good artists touring at the moment.
My next confirmed shows are Sublind, a local thrash metal band, Colour Haze (stoner/psychadelic rock) and Unleash the Archers
Yeah I’m also considering Unleash…
