Not a thing. Bassists are people. Crazy people, I grant you, but still people. Opinions about what’s cool, or not, will vary wildly — from the ridiculous to the sublime.
That doesn’t mean anything, either. Most other bassists will probably never play your bass, and vice versa. Personally, I am grateful in both instances. 
This one suffers both from the questionable burst but also the 5-string stingray pickguard, which makes this burst look extra bad.
Looks like a nice natural woodgrain there too, should have just made this one all natural.
I like this blue one! It looks rather cool, in my opinion.
Yep, awful result with the pickguard. I wouldn’t like to have one of this and have to look at it everyday.
Nothing, of course. The feeling that you should have been born in a different time/age is a common feeling. Wait long enough and pretty much everything cycles back again 
Also, if you were to play in a 50s band, this might be a good choice 
I wonder if this would be nicer if the woodgrain would show through a little more. Otherwise it’s just too yellow. Maybe by calling it caramel or butterscotch it suddenly feels more appealing. I would rather have this model in a totally different colour.
@howard wisely posted the picture without commenting himself, so I don’t know your opinion on this one.
Actually I like this one too but that is one intense blue 
I actually kind of like it - but it’s pretty borderline
I wouldn’t like if it was just the middle colour, like a solid light blue. But the dark shading gives it a dreamy night time feeling, like standing in the dark, a lake under moonlight. It has a beautiful gloomy presence.
Yea, I think it would have looked nicer, if it was natural. Dark Red Bursts just make basses look cheap IMO…Unless it has gold hardware! 
I feel like, if the burst had some red, thrown in it, it would look more vibrant
