Yes. Super awesome feature. I have it on my artist series Mk ii. The 1w is quite a bit louder than the mini 3-5w amp.
Don’t worry about it when you are more experienced you’ll know what to do with it. I’ve been using my cube for a few years now, I have a feeling that I’ll know more about them soon,
Yeagh, you are right. When I start to use those effects I will need the GA-FC for convenience and ease. I grabbed the BT adapter the day I got the amp.
Here is my Line 6 Lowdown LD300 Pro bass amplifier right now. I managed to repair it, and I’m also modding it a little bit. 300 watt class AB, with two pairs of bridged monolythic integrated amps.
I find quite funny and original how the power amp board is oriented with an angle, and how they used long nuts as heatsinks for the voltage regulators.
I’ve seen that before and ISTR I actually did the same back in high school. The regulators are kind of made for that! They have that nice convenient fitting right in their heatsink.
Interesting. It’s the first time I see this, I think. But yeah it’s kinda clever and neat actually, I like it.
Yeah usually you see them screwed down on a larger heatsink if anything but using a standoff like that works too.
Cool. What are you modding?
Yesterday I added a “power amp in” jack input, so that I can use it as a purely analog power amp. The PA section is quite good on this amp, a nice punchy good’ol class AB amp. This mod is not so easy because there is a sensor that mutes the power amp when no bass is plugged into the normal input, so I had to make this sensor behave differently to allow the power amp to be active when I’m using an external preamp instead of the internal digital preamp. Also I can run the internal Line6 preamp and an external preamp at the same time, in parallel, and blend them with their Master pots. It’s all done, I made it work yesterday.
Also I’m wondering about lowering a bit the gain of the analog input stage because this amp as an insane amount of gain, and I can clip it with a powerful passive bass (Greenie at least, but also probably other basses with ceramic pickups too) when I’m picking very hard. Not a huge issue, but, well, why not solve it ?
Damn! That’s cool!
Another Genzler fan to I see. A pair of BA 112s and a BA 115 or BA 110s and a BA112? Hard to tell from a pic. Both MG350s? Plus an Acoustic Array Pro. Jeff Genlzer must love you.
Here’s my current rig. I plan to add a BA 112 once I sell the Epifani cab.
No just triple BA 10-2, 2 Magellan 350, Acoustic Arrays Pro (for the upright) and Boss Katana Artist series.
Wow, hard to tell from the photo. They’re an amazing cab and combo aren’t they? I bought the combo after having bought an MG350 head from a friend earlier primarily because the new 10-2-S2 cabs were so hard to get.
So I have two MG350 one brand new, never used, and the other less than six months old and never used outside of my home. If you know of anyone looking for a great deal on one let me know. I’ll sell one or the other.
New amp day ! A few years after I sold my previous Ampeg, here is a new one : a '92 SVT-III.
There are a lot of SVT versions, and the SVT-III is hands down one of my all-time favorites. it should not be confused with the SVT-3 Pro, which is quite different and way more common. The SVT-III is really rare in France.
The SVT-III short specs :
- All-tube preamp, almost identical to the '69 SVT-VR “Blueline”, with the 5-positions medium RLC filter, Ultra low and Ultra high
- 350w solid state class AB power amp
- Footswitchable 6-band graphic EQ
- Effect loop
- Pre/post DI (XLR + jack) with dedicated volume
- 2U rackmount format, 13.5 kg = 30 pounds
This amp needs some work but nothing too hard. The treble knob is missing, so is the jack nut for the footswitch. The biggest issue is that two faders of the graphic EQ are broken and will need to be replaced (I might replace the other ones as well) but it’s not a big problem as the EQ can be totally defeated, so the amp is totally useable as is.
Also I will absolutly need to add a Master volume very soon, because it’s loud AF. I know how I will do that, I’ll let you know
I love amps. I’m happy.
After having played one of these a number of times at a friend’s place, I decided to upgrade my little Fender Rumble by selling it and buying this blue Ampeg micro VR. I love the sound of it.
Is it Ampeg day? Feels like Ampeg day. If it’s not Ampeg day then by the power vested in me by my own imagination and ego, I hereby declare this National Ampeg Day.
Some sweet sweet Ampegs right there, all three of them.
If I were going to ever get an amp again I’m pretty sure it would totally be an Ampeg tube head.
As the head plugin evangelist it’s somehow surprising to me you would get a tube amp.
I absolutely love the tube sound. I used to have a tube preamp. Were I going hardware I would be all over tubes again.
But yes, my tube amp sims do just fine, thanks
