Show us your amps

If I’m not careful, I might come down with a touch of the GAS virus . . .

Hi Joe,

It’s certainly a step up from the Ibanez 10w practice amp! LOL :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This is so great, and I love all the detailed pics of you opening up that Fender amp box. There’s something so nice about taking it out of the styrofoam padding, undoing the plastic wrap, untying the cords, and just the smell of a fresh new amp, just delicious! I predict years of enjoyment from that, I mean, your amp head shopping days are pretty satisfied and done now, and, wondering what kind of speaker cabs you’ll get. I have a feeling over time, it’ll be more than 2, so you can swap different ones out! And, I don’t think struggling to play over a drummer will ever be a problem anymore

what kind of cab are you selling T_dub?

I wish that would “just happen” to me…

I imagine that would be somewhat problematic to ship.

I’m getting ready to take my 412 down to the church so I would be in the market for another amp for the house.

Yeah, no clue on shipping? I have a guy says he is coming for it tomorrow. If he backs out, I can look into shipping. Where are you located? @Gorch

From the Department of Dark Horses, I bring you:

This is a 40W bass amp, with 4-band equalizer, two inputs, a speaker out, a headphones out and a “line out”, which is actually a preamp out.

After having a chat with a guy at Thomann who plays bass himself, I picked this one when I bought the fretless. He said I’d like it, but if I didn’t, I could always return it.
It had all the connections I wanted, and it has a 10" speaker (which my wife is not af fan of), which the (marginally cheaper) 20W unit didn’t have.
There are no frills; it’s a super-simple amp. At 12 kg, it’s a bit heavier than you’d think, though.

I paid a two-figure amount for it, as it was B-stock, but the only B-thing about it was that the packaging had been opened.

The newer version has one input rather than two, and while the equalizer is only a three-band, it is parametric (you can choose the frequency range on which the midrange operates).

Ok. I’m still waiting on (2) new Eminence speakers for the 210 cab, but here’s my current Wall of Sound!

The Peavey Mark VI head and 115 cab is looking for a new home. I just did a full overhaul on the pots, faders, etc… last week. It sounds great, but I think the 4x10s will keep me covered for any gigs.

You guys have some cool amps. I like amps. Amps are cool. :+1:

@Moose_Hofer What made you decide to move from the 15 over to using 10’s?

Moving that 15 around takes some work, and it requires some space in the house. . I used it for years under the 210 cab, and it does add some nice “full sound.” It’s got the older Peavey Black Widow 15. Great for outdoor gigs.

I think the (2) 210s will do what I need. I will know soon enough. Then, my system is more modular for transport. Al at US speaker ran some speaker simulations through the empty cabinet for me, and I’m pretty confident that it will give me all the range I need.

Standby for an update.

A used Warwick WCA 115 LW has come available for $229. Down from $299.

I’m weighing this against a Fender 115 cabinet (new at $299).

I haven’t been able to find out very much about the Warwick. There seem to be a number of Japanese sites with information. I’m not real sure though since I don’t know Japanese.

@howard Would you mind doing a search and seeing if you can find any reviews?

I saw a couple sites selling them but didn’t see any reviews.

Thanks, @howard.

I think I’m going to have to pass on it. It’s just weird how little information their is on this outside of Warwick promotional material.
