New old bass day, and IMO it’s a looker 
1985 Yamaha BB-VIII. They only made them for one year.
These vintage MIJ Yamahas are just solid instruments.
The back of the neck is gloss but it’s also beautiful, going to leave it that way. It’s a big chonky P style neck, 42mm nut.
The double P’s sound great and the bridge P is surprisingly useful even soloed. Liking it so far, cool bass.
