Show Us Your Basses (Part 2)

Well technically I don’t think they do, I am pretty sure it is contracted out to Fujigen like they used to do.

NBD! An '05-'07 MIJ Fender Aerodyne Precision. This particular model was exclusively for the Japanese market. Looks brand new except for the strings and two holes in the pickguard where the pickup cover used to be.

Won it in a raffle. €10 on tickets and €220 on import fees (Isn’t Brexit great?). Still, pretty good deal if you ask me.

Now I need to figure out what to do with it. Got my ATK with rounds, the Crimson PJ with flats. Maybe BEAD? Or tape wounds? Or… stop messing with strings, stop buying more basses an practice for a change? Choices, choices…

Obviously, I can recommend Andertons, there are a good selection of chain coffee shops in town and I love the Wagamama

Yeah, and I’m not even in UK. Dutch government claims anything over €22 needs 21% VAT slapped on. If it costs more than €120 (that includes shipping mind you) there an import fee of up to 17%. And then there’s courier handling fees as well. Sucks.

Still, €230 for a Fender Aerodyne especially this kind is peanuts

I know, right? A bit of flashiness with that flamed maple. All the modern features of an Aerodyne but the pickguard and binding make look old-school. I dig it.

a little while ago I was kicking around getting a cheap 5 string. I wound up finding a orange Ibanez GSR205 for $225 near me. originally I was looking at a slightly nicer ibby, but: A. this was even cheaper and B. with my mikro I have this situation going on. which amuses me.

after fooling around with it for a day I have decided I’m going to play it exclusively for a little bit. because not only is it fun, it really does make you get your muting game together.

Two of three on my wishlist acquired… SBMM Ray4 SUB and a Squier VM 60’s Jazz. The sound difference between the two is striking. The third? Would love to get an actual Fender P bass. The holidays are coming, so I’ve got a feeling there’s a deal out there to be had…

This is never the answer

Very nice, but are you sure it’s not a VM 70s Jazz? With the block inlays and everything?
