Show Us Your Basses (Part 2)

It’s a funny discussion here … I don’t know anybody from my time living in Holland, Germany, England, Switzerland or even Belgium that ever had a reason to use a weapon. Any weapon…
(EDIT: ok, the exception being friends that were in war zones)

I haven’t heard of any house invasion (of course we do have burglaries) and even assaults on the streets (except for casual drunk street/bar fights).
Sometimes I read about stuff like that in newspapers, but overall we are pretty safe here - even in the “worst” parts of Hamburg (or any city I know here) or parks after dark…

For self defense we just wander off in another direction

That said, I do possess two very nice “real” Katanas (the swords, not the gear) and some serious tactical knives (which are now forbidden), but those are leftovers from my close combat & martial arts times (also, I love steel) … never intended on actual use…

How apropos. Both a bass AND a melee weapon!

Who ever suggested a bass wasn’t a melee weapon?

This gives a new meaning to “nice Axe” :joy:

My bass doubles as a hammer (with enough force of course)

I’ve been borrowing my friends Ibanez while I have been learning and taking lessons. I auditioned for the local church band and, to my surprise, was accepted. So I bought myself something beautiful.

So today I traded my Sub 5, Ibanez Frankenstein, and an old acoustic I don’t play…

So I guess you could say I did a thing…

In my defence, I saw her and cyber stalked her seller for weeks for this specific instrument. So while it’s bittersweet to let go of my first bass and my first 5, I’m in love so :man_shrugging:

All that matters is how you like it. If you have been dreaming about it then it’s worth for you.

Now that you got it will you feel the same. The excitement is the anticipation and not the act of owning :joy:

Congrats. Now it’s playin’ time.

This thing has so much sustain I can go grab a beer, pee, come back, and still be playing the same note.

This 100% the bass I wanted.

Just played for an hour and a half. I still have practice tonight

Ooo… Careful with using sustain the s-word. The topic tends to rile some here. :joy:
