Show Us Your Basses (Part 2)

There more often you say stuff like that, the more I really want to meet you

And thus, I leave you all for the weekend with this zen riddle

Same problem when you want to sell something. The main reason I have so many road bikes and basses is because I don’t want to interact with people  I better keep them than talking to buyers

Exactly my sentiment on the matter.

Have you consider the strandberg* Boden that’s a very unique bass and the neck is just too delicious.

My music corner

Primary Bass: Rosalie, the red Yamaha B234. There’s also Jackie, the cheap Marketplace Jackson JS2 Concert with a broken neck pickup in mat black.

Fender Rumble 100 amp and Zoom B1x FOUR. Highly recommend both.

Also shown: Yamaha P125 digital piano, ashiko drum, kids mini acoustic guitar, trash Viper tele rip-off, Otamatone, and melodica, and my Roc Soc drum throne. Work From Home setup with audio interface.

Did I mention I grew up playing drums and still think of myself as a drummer, even though I haven’t had a kit since I had kids?

That said, bass makes me happy like no other instrument, so I know I’m home for now.

Man I look with more lust at bass necks than I do at women these days. I’m sure my wife is thankful but I’m still going to put in a call to my therapist. Is polyamourous bassophelia listed in the DSM-5?

Mine wouldn’t. Bass stuff is a whole lot more expensive than enjoying the scenery.

Hahahaha, ā€œHow much did you spend on ā€˜HER’ this time Matt!!??!!ā€

ā€œUm… I traded the wood chipperā€¦ā€

ā€œYOU WHAT!!??!!!ā€

ā€œI also got a 100W amp in the dealā€¦ā€

(True story but less yelling, my wife has largely accepted my disorder)

What is up with that fretless without fret markers :scream:??!!???

It either has side dots, or not. Double basses don’t have them, and most double bass players who play electric fretless don’t need any fret indicators.

Why would you need dots? You have ears!

I covered that up too, gotta master your kung fu,

It meant nothing on a dark stage.

Yeah! how is your Kung Fu.

You’d be surprise how easy it is to transition but at the same time how hideous it is to be pitch perfect. I usually fret at the ā€œlineā€ but when things get faster sometimes I get sloppy, then it’s like a fish hook yanking on my eye brows. :joy:

Is that painters tape over your dots??!!!??? I’m about to tell my wife I’m going away to ā€œfat campā€ and come join your bass dojo for a week :star_struck:
