I would go 3m green
Oh yeah, got a bunch. Useful around the house.
Got the usual upgrades on the way; Schaller S-locks, Gotoh B-201 bridge, and this time I am trying Gotoh GB-350 tuning machines. They are machined aluminum, inexpensive, and even lighter than the HipShots.
1.5 month backorder on the tuners, though.
Here’s my bass! I just got it yesterday! (Picture is from Sweetwater and they sent it to me so you can see the pattern). I would mess around with my dad’s ibanez and decided to get one for myself.
Ooh, nice SR. I love the finish.
Hope I will resist GAS. My bass is a Schecter SLS Elite Evil Twin. I like those beginner-friendly fret markings.

Not too bad for a starting bass
[Eeek - apologies - managed to delete this accidentally Hopefully restored now]
Here’s my wonderful Aria Pro II LEB Classic. Excuse the G-string, I just changed it as the old string broke like 30 years ago, and I’m just getting back into music / bass, as a now 57-y/o.
Not my first bass, but there’s no pictures of my second-hand Hondo P-bass copy, bought at R+B Music in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Playing-wise I was just terrible, though I did get a few gigs … whole 'nother story! I’m just working on the basics of fretting and plucking and keeping time.
Josh’s post of the 5 Biggest Mistakes REALLY hit home!
Bad technique is like bad breath—nobody tells you, but everybody notices. Let’s Febreze your fretwork. [100s 8 + speech bubble (Final thumb)] If you’re doing the Beginner to Badass course, this lesson is utterly optional - you’ll be developing solid technique as you progress through the course, and getting stuck on extracurricular vids like this is a bad idea… BUT by Module 6 or so you’ll have a lot of these fundamentals in place. Bass Technique Mistakes PDF Here’s the PDF with some resources…
And maybe stretching things a bit, of course I needed a new practice amp … shiny new toy, and awesome:

Here’s my wonderful Aria Pro II LEB Classic.
Beautiful. Those are outstanding instruments.
Show us your basses is my favorite thread, please keep posting the pics…
It’s obvious I dig on Fender’s.
P bass, Marcus Miller Jazz bass, Geddy Lee Jazz bass
I’m crushing on the Geddy Lee Jazz bass- must. have. one. #resist

the Geddy Lee Jazz bass
That’s exactly how I felt and look what happened.
The USA model has the best reviews.
Mine is a Mim and was hand picked from four stores, quality is all good.
I play the Geddy the most by far, it has the thin neck and I really like that about it.
I play a lot of Rush so it just seemed the right thing to do.
If you dig it and it’s going to inspire you to play more you know what you gotta do…
Hi there, I present my Sire V3. I put a transparent pickguard (https://gig.ink/) so I could put a AI generated picture. I changed the original Sire Preamp for a Sadowsky Onboard preamp.
Thanks for the background on quality, that will save me some time and research. Yes, resistance is futile. I love Geddy’s tone. I have a John Taylor Dingwall which scratches my itch for higher treble, but that Rush tone is awesome. And I need a Jazz Bass of course:) Maybe a YYZ Sansamp too? haha…
2nd attempt

Distinguished gentleman.
This is Ukrainian brand - Woodstock Guitars. You can get one of these bois for around USD 500 here in Ukraine, although the price is at $1100 for foreign market (idk why, you probably just can get an original Fender for this money).
Anyway, it’s well-built, feels and plays awesome. If you have a chance to buy a Woodstock bass for around $500 - go for it. Or you can pay a full price to support the guys, because russian rocket hit their workshop and they had to rebuild it.
I had an opportunity to play 80’s Fender J-Bass, this one feels the same.
Greetings from Ukraine, have a nice day!
edit: if you have any questions about this bass - I’ll be glad to answer them!
Welcome! That actually looks like a pretty nice Jazz. If I were shopping for one I’d rather have it than a Fender, just to support those guys.
Last time I bought tubes I bought them from someone there for the same reason. Good luck to you.

Welcome! Your story of that bass sounds a lot like what happened to Valiant Guitars & Basses, also from Kyiv. Two brothers, one a guitarist and one a bassist. They make wonderful instruments. I bought a 27" scale Mini Bass in black from their website, but it was in-stock at their dealer in the U.S. (Amp Shop Bass Exchange in North Hollywood, CA). It was well-traveled by the time I received it in France. Fabulous bass. They made everything, including the bridge and tuning machines. A lot more expensive than your Woodstock, but I was happy to support them.
My first wife was Ukrainian, and I still have a soft spot for the people, who are always in my thoughts!
