At one point I have more basses than my local Sam ash and GC, combined, I made a mistake of showing them my basses (hoping for a trade) and left my number. I got a call every week,
Have you at least managed to dodge ending up on Google maps as the registred owner (on maps) some one managed to open our closed bussnies on their and caused us to get a surge in phone calls
In the spirit of the above, I would say that most of the people suggesting to return it were only doing so with the best interests of @JustBatty in mind. This isnât TalkBass, thereâs no ill will here from anyone above. Basically the comments about resale were not wrong and resale shouldnât be ignored - tastes change over time as you evolve your playing.
But given that he has a reply from Fender that it was just one of their almost predictable QC misses, itâs no big deal.
In the mean time, you got a nice Jazz bass you love. Congrats on the instrument, the AmPros are nice.
I donât have acoustic bass simply because well they donât fit me well as you know the donât make one with belly carved and people around here calls me Big Al for a reason,
Youâre absolutely entitled to do whatever you want with your own money and if you like the bass, fantastic.
The only caveat is you donât what you might want in 5 years time.
So if you decide to sell or do a part exchange at a shop youâre going to run into those questions.
Itâs not a cheap bass. For $2000 USD Fender / GC need to make it right. If you bought a new truck and one door was a different colour that wouldnât be acceptable.
I hope it all works out for you, but selling on Reverb with a mismatched head stock decal will cause you a headache trying to sell it at a decent price, even if you have an email from Fender.
Anyway, welcome to the forum. The free advice youâve been given is for the most part done with your best interests at heart.
Previously I was struggling with keeping a Sadowsky MetroExpress Modern I had bought versus returning it for a Darkglass Anagram pedal. I decided to keep the bass after all. It feels so nice to play, I love the sound, the orange color is killer, and I love all the features included for making adjustments.
Oh and as a bonus, I got the Anagram anyway. Itâs awesome. Not only does it have a lot of great options, itâs also super easy to manipulate the blocks, settings and scenes. The form factor is super portable and the built in XLR outs are really nice and I wish more multi effects units included. They also have been rolling out a lot of updates. I think I bought at the right time since I think there were some complaints about how much was available at launch. I just hope they keep supporting for a long time.
Hey all! Sorry for a loooong post But I have a little confession to make. 9 months ago I sold my first bass (Fender Player Jazz), which I had owned only for about a year. I also sold all my electric guitars at same time and just⌠stopped playing. Actually I even stopped enjoying music for a while (Music has always been my passion). This was due to a very busy and stressful phase in my life. Also I had somekind of âMusical overdoseâ, which was due to playing guitar in a finnish deathcore band, creating music, studio work and rehearsing our songs.
But it didnât take long before I started to regret selling my bass. I had kind of promised to myself that once I sell my instruments, then thats it. End of an era. No more playing, just listening. But as the time went on the regret inside me just kept growing. I had played bass for only a few months, but had already got pretty good grasp of the basics (My backround as guitarist definately helped) and fallen in love with bass as an instrument.
I didnât wanna waste the momentum I had achieved so I got a new bass and here it is! Well, technically its pretty old bass, almost 30 years old, but new to me. Its actually built up from two Ibanez Soundgear basses. Body is from SR390GQ and neck from SR600. Bass is in pretty good condition for its age and I absolutely love it. Neck feels so nice and setup is almost perfect.
Now, hereâs a promise to you guys and most of all to myself: I will not sell this bass. Ever. I will commit to music once again, cherish this bass and learn all the secrets playing bass has in store for me. Over and out
