Show Us Your Basses (Part 2)

Makes me think of Impaled Rektum. Those were some good movies.

Nice bass, welcome back

What is the name of the Finnish deathcore band? My son-in-law’s mother is Finnish and he is into Finnish deathcore.

Band is called Heaven Is a Lie. Band performs in english and by “finnish deathcore band” I mean that members are from Finland. I left the band on spring 2024 after being part of it for two years.

I really recommend checking the band on Spotify or Youtube if you are into heavy stuff. They are steadily growing their reputation and fanbase, releasing new songs and start gigging next friday here in Finland. All the members are supertalented musicians and their music is honestly really great. I love the attention to small details they make while creating music :sign_of_the_horns:

Nice. You even kept the tree it was made from. You also have continued the long established B2B tradition of nice rugs.

I listened to them for about 2 hours today while working out. Not bad! I liked it!

Hello everyone, I’m new on my bass journey, so much shiny stuff on this thread, hard going after a death core guy with a beautiful instrument

just went to my local instrument shop, and the guy was trying to sell me a cheep china bass guitar from company named Stagg, was nice and all, but then I checked the used department, and found this bass there, I had no clue what I’m doing, but I really liked the fit and finish on this used bass, so I just grabbed it, even though it was a little more than the Stagg bass

I have no comparison, but I think it plays well lol :Ăž

learned after I got home, this is from a Korean company that has not existed for many years, but seems to have a good reputation online, even though I could not find much about it, the active electronics in this instrument are pretty bad, I play it in passive mode, plugged into audio interface, thinking to add an amp pedal to get more tone variation, but no rush  just starting

so I did I buy a lemon ? or something that will do me great ?, at least in my opinion it looks nice  even though its a bit heavy compared to the Stagg I was initially looking at

This is where my bass journey starts. New Spector NS Pulse II 4 Black Cherry Matte. Might be a little bit overkill for first bass, but I hope it motivates me to pick it up more often.
This has been a great place to start. Just after few days I feel like maybe old dog can still learn some new tricks.

I have to say that some of the collections here are wild. Some of you literally have more basses than my local Guitar Center. I’m not saying that is a bad thing or anything, but wow. I still feel a tinge of guilt having bought a second bass and feel like I have to play them both every day so I don’t feel like I wasted money. lol

In taste and quantity. I used to eat at the original 5 Guys (now torn down :frowning: ) and they really did fill up the bags with fries. They are still good, but nothing like they were 25+ years ago.

In-n-Out gives you a pretty decent meal for pretty cheap, about 1/2 the price of 5 guys.

When I was looking to buy #3, the wife made a comment about how I only have two hands. Didn’t stop me from buying it.

I know what you mean about feeling like you have to play them both regularly so you “didn’t waste money”, but that feeling goes away after time. At least it did for me.

Yeah. I was thinking about how I looked at it and I consider In-n-Out to be about the best traditional fast food burger, and Five Guys to be just a great burger, fries and shake but on a different level than what I would think of as fast food. It’s more of a classic burger joint, like Taxi’s (but way better).

I imagine two things would help, being good enough to tell the difference and/or making money from them .

I started with a P bass and I picked up a stingray because I wanted to learn how to slap and while you can slap a P bass, from what people better than me say, it’s not really the tool for that.

My P bass and my Stingray do sound different to me, but not THAT much different.

I’m still glad I got the Stingray, but I’m a cheapskate by nature, and always fight guilt when spending money on myself especially on things I don’t NEED.

My one and only problem with 5 guys is the way the wrap their burger. It looks great and approaching vacuum seal. Why build up all this crust on the bun and patties to just lose it all to steam traps in side the wrapping.
