Show Us Your Basses (Part 2)

I definitely recommend it. Reverb has used ones for a little cheaper but for the price I went new. $220 is a good price I think.

Iā€™ve been hunting one of these for over a year now, finally found one in stock in the US. Sandberg Nighthawk+ in dark gray.

I have a nighthawk 1911 in dark gray, lol.

Oh hey! Itā€™s yours. Congrats @AnotherJosh.

Beautiful @AnotherJosh
To me it looks wonderfully blue though

Ha, looks like that to me too, but Sandberg calls it dark gray. Iā€™ve learned not to argue with Germans though, not very productive. In any case it sounds amazing.

Congrats, Josh. Looks great and very likely plays beautifully.

The bass is angled towards the window in the pic, so itā€™s reflecting blue daylight (5000-6000K color temperature).

Not being a native English speaker, I have some freedom in the definition of respectable

But I already bought a new bass middle of B2B course (I said I would do it at the endā€¦ couldnā€™t wait)

Those are stylistically just so clean (in their design) and have tons of tone options as well! Congrats!!

Last Friday was B-day, meaning I received my brand new short scale Sterling. I was thrilled, because a few days before, my attempt to buy the white one had failed because there was something wrong with the neck. I found a black one in a closer Long and McQuade store and got it two days later.

After playing with the sacred 1972 P bass for a couple of weeks, I must admit the Sterling is very fun to handle. I was disappointed with the finish of the pick up, because it looks cheap, and the fake tortoise pick guard as well. I have been trained on high end gear and this is a costly training.

I also bought a practice amp, some very low end Joyo plastic box. It produces sound and takes no space, which is good. I can find my way with it, but I will definitely buy a new pick guard, WD Music products has an Abalone finish that looks great. I like everything quite dark and my strap is a black cotton one from a fellow Canadian brand, Nebula Straps.

I might post the P basses later, or not, but here is my very first bass! Note that I havenā€™t removed the plastic covers yet. I am not ready.

Congratulations, @emiaharvey. I have an SBMM short scale in Olympic White and Rosewood fingerboard.

These shorties have a big MM sound and are so easy to play. Enjoy your new baby!

Cats are so awesome. Unless you sing. Mine starts freaking out when I sing, she puts her paws into my eyes and screams louder. Sunbursts go with everything, as do black cats!

What type of mods would you do to the pickups? Iā€™m ā€œthat guyā€ that needs to mod everything he owns

Iā€™d go with EMG. it looks to be either 35 or 40 size. If itā€™s a single pickup then I can go with TW series so I can have both single coil and humbucker. Keeping it modern I could add the VMC (variable, mid control) or choose their preamps either BQC or BTC depending on the available knob spaces.

Or I can go with Fishman fluence. It would be unique and modern and there are a few available wiring options.

If you are up for some routing cavity then Delano xtender quad coil would be my choice especially if you can score one below 500, any more than a $1000 I would not change the aesthetic.
