Show Us Your Basses (Part 2)

An additional P-bass pickup choice could be the Seymour Duncan SPB-4 Steve Harris signature pups.

I know that @Al1885 exchanged the pups in his SH signature bass for Delanos, but I like them a lot. To my ears, they are a modernized vintage-y pup. Thumpy, but brighter than the SD SPB-3 :hamburger: :hamburger: or other vintage-y P pups.

True that!
I took out the SH pickup and put it on my other P bass and I love it. I agree it has this aggressive wonky Mid with tight bass. I took it out of the SH Sig bass for the and replace with Delano look/ theme of the project. Sold the first one, build the next sold that one too, I’m on my third.

NBD: Sterling Stingray short scale. Dropped copper color. Put EB cobalt flats on it.

This was a challenge to find. A local guitar center had a powder blue one I could try out, but I wanted the color I bought. Had to order it from a guitar shop on Reverb. None of the major retailers had one.

So far, I love it. It is very comfortable.

Wow! That’s super cool man! I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t sign any of my 3 Steve Harris, lol.

This is one of my four. I blacked out my transparent black Sterling Ray4 with new tuners, string tree, strap buttons, pickguard, control plate, and bridge. Also put in an EMG MMHZ and BTS control.

When British Lion was touring the USA a couple years ago, I caught all 4 Florida shows. he did a meet and greet after them. That was just prior to Covid. Nice guy in person.

Not on the topic of the infamous :cheese: , but merely my two bass guitars!

Here’s my beginner piece, Cort c4 plus.

Also bought a small amp so I’m set! If I keep at it, I promised myself the Rickenbacker replica from Thomann!

When my grandpa passed, I inherited all of his basses and gear. This Peavey T-40 is my favorite and the one I tend to gravitate towards when I play.

Cool bass. They are heavy, but cool. :sunglasses::+1:

Really nice that you inherited his gear. What else did you get?

It is definitely heavy, haha. But it was his favorite and the one I saw him play the most, so it holds a lot of space in my heart.

I also got his Peavey Grind 5 string and a J.B. Player JBB-115, and an old Peavey TKO 65 amp. He gave me the J.B. Player before he passed away for me to learn on, and after a couple of months I ended up buying a Gretsch Junior Jet. He kept asking me why I needed another bass, and I asked him why he needed the three he had.

I have one too and LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
If grandpa could play it & deal with the weight, so can everyone!

Oh dude! Don’t send it to @Barney to do the weight reduction, lol. Actually the Swiss cheese thing is not looking bad at all, just worry about the ToneWood.

Swiss cheese bass…now I’m hungry

They had one of those up for sale at the local Sam Ash for $899 iirc. It was certainly heavy!
