I’m not sure if I should feel proud or guilty realising that my practice space has remained virtually unchanged over the last 2 years (that includes the inventory).
I think it’s best to stop giving a fornication and just be aware that it apparently covers all my needs.

So my current “practice space” is in my home office which also occasionally doubles as a guest room. I’m planning on refitting one of the walls as floor to ceiling storage and I want to tailor some of that storage specifically for music.
I’m contemplating something like below which will give me a closed off storage area of 120x40x128cm (WxDxH) which I reckon should be good for between 6-8 Bass or Guitar stored vertically. This is shown in yellow below.
I’m also thinking of reinforcing and wiring the area shown in orange which would give me a space 60x40x64cm (WxDxH) for a cab or practice combo. I’m still undecided as to whether to cover that area with a door (might resonate when in use), a removable solid panel (remove every time it’s used), a removable speaker fabric panel (remove for EQ adjustments) or just leave it open.
Since I’m still in the planning phase, any thoughts or ideas from those that have gone before me?
Note: there’s already a Desk, PC & monitors on the other side of the room, so that doesn’t have to be catered for.

At the time of my order the 12" cab was avail in black only. Definately not my first choice but I bought it since Orange was hard to get at this time in Europe coz of Brexit.
You can use solid wooden doors, there are also “studio doors” you can find, etc that have sound breaks on the bottom edge, the door frame edges, etc, to keep as much sound from bleeding out as possible. Also, you can DIY acoustic panels on the cheap using rock wool (don’t use foam or fiberglass. I’m pretty sure it’s called rock wool) for a cost of like $20 a panel and you can make them look any way you like
