I am missing all of you, and my basses, , and YT, and Music, Snd offer up and idk why, but I have found quite a lot of sources for those metal P bass pick guards. So been looking gor P basses, Snd @mac (I hate to use @Mac ) has really started moving something in me to start looking at Warwick : Rockbasses.
They gave me Ketamine about a month ago in the hospital… fantastic stuff.
It if pure relaxation. I never tried to get it in the past to abuse, Snd Zi understand it can get a bit out of control, but in the hospital thru ziV Snd regulations, it was amazing.
The pain dr at this hospital is not as knowledgeable, so even suggesting it was like me breaking the Genevieve convention, so Zi never pushed it.
Too bad tho. He has been working with me, despite his desire, he has let me suggest things he can do, that worked better then he was doing.
I just look forward til about 2 weeks from now, when knee pain is s thing of the past.
Hi there @T_dub, I hope everything goes well to you. All the best wishes! It seems you’ve been through a lot of shit and you appear to be a fighter, I am sure you will handle this. Please take care of yourself…we are not indestructible.
Second vote for the Infinity here @T_dub . Closest thing I can compare it to is it has the feel of a Rickenbacker but not the weight.
Great fret access over fret 17 too and you could get a MM Aguilar pickup in there if you wanted.
The docs here are going to slap me on a Ketamine infusion when I finally admit myself to wean me off all the other psyc drugs I’m currently taking. A full 2 weeks on that and then on to trauma therapy.
Hows the knee feel? Are you allowed to be up and walk on it yet?
The key thing with Rockbasses is to only buy the ones with the Warwick logo on the headstock, when Warwick started branding them as Warwicks. That’s when the quality control went up to the Warwick standards.
Pre-logo Rockbasses could be hot garbage, apparently. Just avoid them and go for the ones with the logo. It’s been a long time so the older ones should be hard to find, but don’t fall for them.
Otherwise, they are great basses. You might want to swap out the knobs and preamp, but the important parts are all fine. Solid instruments.
youshould have sen me babbling like a baby in pain the first day about 4 hours post op when the local anesthetic they shoot right in your spinal chord wears off. I imaging that could have made a funny video. "big tuff guy cries like baby.
No special k this time. that is used for completely different circumstances.
Mostly is issued for surgery for children under 12, because the propanol is too powerful for them, and ketamine works best for junior surgery anesthesia. That is the main use FWIU in hospitals
No, and it is not as effective as a pain killer in this instance unless they really dose you good with it… I was Dilaudid, Oxy, Xanax, Vallium, Celebrex, and a host of other BS instead of just cutting t the chase and giving me Fentinal for the first 24 hours. Would not only have made my life easier, but countless staff would have been much happier had I been on it.
aside from using it in minors for surgery anesthetic, there are many ongoing studies about the effects of micro dosing it for things like mild to severe depression, bi-polar, ptsd, manic depressive, etc… the list goes on, there are supposed to be wonderful uses for it (not just a street high), bu tit is ceap, and keeps big Pharma from making lots of money with more expensive medications with a list of side effects a mile longer that will be what takes its plane in te long run, after they kill the “Special K” for medical. Unless enough people rally around it like legalizing weed legalizing weed for medical uses, which would end to recreational use (doesn’t Oregon already have this legalized).
I feel for you man. I’ve had 5 or 6 knee sugeries over the years and its no fun. They should be called paindullers because they do not kill the pain. Not even close.
Not sure what the laws are in oregon, next state south of me, but here in Washington it’s out and out legal, for any use.
They’re in the process of making CBD oil easier to get here if you can get your GP to prescribe it.
I’m due to get admitted for a few weeks on a ketamine infusion (1%) to wean me off the physc drugs I’ve been on for over 2 years ( anything from lithium to other sh*t I can’t even remember.
At one point here in Oz you wouldn’t get prosecuted for growing dope provided you had under 10 ( South Australia that is)
From a medical standpoint, I’ve seen it a million times in the recovery room. Guaranteed you were probably a bright spot in their day. So many people come out of it abrasive and mean and just plain violent.
From a patient (parent) standpoint, my daughter, when she was three or so, came out of a bone being reset, screaming like a banshee. I’ve seen this too, but she took the cake when it came to decibels. We all laughed about it, but you should have seen the amount of nurses who came over to check out what was going on in her recovery bed.
You are absolutely right. Fortunately, you can ONLY get it IN A HOSPITAL thru an IV drip. Sure, I suppose you can buy it illicit, but in all my times running amok, I have never come across it, so chances of me finding it now, especially since I stay away from the illicit world purposefully, I would say are slim to zero, but thanks for the concern.
In the hospital it was relaxing, but nothing I wold jump thru hoops to get.
You got that right, thanks for the well wishes.
I will get thru it. I did babble like a baby for a little while in the hospital, but, yeah, I fought thru it.
Thanks
Thanks, but am I looking but when it comes to different levels of Warwick I am kind of lost, like Rock Bass, with or without a W on the headstock, and some of the truss rod cover names, I was under the impression that some of the cheaper ones (junky or not, IDK) are often passed off as more expensive ones, and I don’t want to pay too much for something worth half price. Thats where I need the experts.
I suppose I best find ones I am interested in, and post them here to see if they are worth the asking price or not.
Too late. I already got Les Claypool Pachyderm EMG active pick ups
I suppose I should make note that I traded my Ray34 for a road worn 50’s P bass, which is basically the more rare version of the Vintera. They were made for just a few years before they stopped the road worn and went just Vintera. Crazy thing is, look at the most for the road worn (same colors as the red / gold Vinterea) and they are min $1200, upwards of close to $2000.
Just the road worn neck is going for about $600.
I just got the bass about an hour ago. photos to come in the appropriate place.
Thanks Mac. Just need to know what series or name, or build location to know that I am not getting ripped off, or paying too much.
I mean I almost bought a $350 rock bass Corvette about a year ago, and it felt fine, solid as can bee, just they didn’t have an amp I could check it out and I never went back with my own amp, cuz they owner or manager of that pawn sop was an ass hat.
Knee is feeling better.
Thats what. I needed, thanks.
2 weeks, a thing of the past, hmmm, well its been 3 and it still has pain, but it is greatly improved. It also highlighted just how bad my hip is too.
doing better. posting in that rehab / assisted living was difficult, people yelling all the time, them coming for meds, showers, PT, all sorts of things all day long, it made keeping train of thought on one post a real pain in the ass. Yeah, I saw some really weird ones a way back.
Doing better, just got home Friday night, already made my first bass trade (that I set up while I was in the Rehab facility).
Yeah, they like to give pain Dulles, when they have access to pain killers, but refuse so often to use them. STUPID.
I can’t do CBD oil. I hate weed, and the time I tried CBD oil, it gave me the same paranoia, just no high. but its the paranoia I hate, so I happily skip CBD in any form.
Yeah, at 4, I snapped both bones in my right wrist. I remember yelling, don’t know what the db meter was, but I screamed all the wy to the hospital and all the way til they gave me some baby pain Dulles
Good to hear from you @T_dub
I too don’t like weed or CBD oil. Had a bad experience while I was wiring a chopper and trying to smoke a “rollie” like a normal ciggie
The biggest thing with the Warwick basses is to make sure the truss road adjusts. From everything I’ve read that is a problem that rears it’s ugly head more often than any other.
The Corvette is a nice jazz type bass, the Infinity has a humbucker and a jazz pickup with a toggle switch to mess about with parallel etc etc ( can’t remember the others lol)and the Streamer is just a PJ but great fun.
The bridge is phenomenal for adjustment and the adjustable nut is a nice touch.
Check the tuners for any grinding or unusual movements when adjusting them too as I have read they occasionally break internally .
Also the lighter ones may be Carolina which is basically pine and very soft.
Just drop me a PM if I can help
