Using the search function, I could find only one thread that was created before Josh joined. It was started by @lee_editorial , and it is most likely the very first thread created on this forum:
Yayyy, the new forum is alive. Just started Josh’s lessons a couple of months ago, and am having a blast so far! I originally got an Ibanez but realized my hands were not really the ideal size once I got into a few of the lessons and running into some difficulty. After a little research, I discovered the wonderful world of the “short scale” bass. A lot of manufacturers have models that are in the 28 or 30 inch range, rather than the standard 34. Once I made the switch, I couldn’t be happier.

Strangely enough I had the honor of making the first post on this forum.
When I first started the course, one of the things that jumped out to me was the comment section below the lessons. It was great to see others responses, struggles, tips, etc- but it just left me wanting more.
I’m also on talkbass, and it’s a great site, but like earlier posters have said, you often have to be really careful how you ask or comment on something since you can quickly get put in your place by oldti…
