I don’t get it.
I don’t get it either. It looks like a 2-year-old with a handful of crayons and a lot of blank white walls in the house just went on a doodling rampage. Sacrilege for a 3K€ Höfner bass.
Klaus Voorman, isn’t it? Same bloke that did the Revolver cover art.
Not my taste and it’s a bit too busy. Pickups and strings don’t work with the design. It probably looked better on paper and definitely should have stayed there.
Are guitar amps allowed in this thread? I bought an outstandingly ugly one a few weeks back.
I don’t have pictures to hand but some more of those glorious Soviet basses need to be here
Soviet-era musical instruments are amazing. I would love to have a Polivoks.

The only synth with tank treads!
I actually kinda do dig the color scheme. Not liking the bridge, though.
Why isn’t this in the Synth Porn thread? ![]()
yeah they are pretty epic, sound amazing too. Cherry Audio has a great plugin for them (Atomika).
Strong like Tractor, Smart like Wood!
I kinda like that- this style needs a Jetsons colour scheme.
Yes, that’s correct. This is the Hoefner 60th Anniversary bass, and the artwork was designed by Klaus Voormann.
“The artwork on the top of the bass was designed for Höfner by Klaus Voormann who is very closely associated with The Beatles and is the designer of the cover of the world famous Revolver album. This album celebrates its 50th anniversary since release and accordingly the artwork for the bass is in the same unique style. Each bass comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which has been personally signed by Klaus Voormann.”
I take back what I said above. Respect, but still not for me.
Same here. I really appreciate the awesome Klaus Voormann, but this artwork is way too busy for me. But anyway, we don’t need to worry, only 60 copies were produced and sold out, so there’s practically not a single chance that we might put our own hands on this bass.
It’s a bass.
It’s a rudder.
It’s both!
Yeah, that’s agood use for it! ![]()
It looks like a villain from Doctor Who
EXTERMINATE!
