100% agree with Howard. 8" is better than 5".

No, bass sounds great through it, it’s not that at all.
It’s about use of space and filling the room.
Seriously the difference in bass response is minimal and both are fantastic:
-3dB at ~50Hz is great.

The 5" speakers are fine for low end, it’s not that. They sound really good and accurate down there, trust me, I use them all the time. They are also plenty loud with 160W between the two.
It’s just that the 8" will give you more headroom if you decide you want to monitor loudly, and will sound a bit more rich and full at volume. Neither are a factor for me as I can’t get very loud here, but it might make a difference for you.

For comparison a Fender Rumble 100 is already at about -10dB at 50Hz, don’t be scared of the 5’s bass response, just saying also to not sleep on the 8’s

If I didnt put the backdrop (that mutes a lot), I would’ve considered the 8s. I doubt I will need more. I have 30 days to try!

Yeah I think you’ll be happy. The 5’s have a better bass response than the Rumble 100, a much better high end response (duh) with actual tweeters, and 60W more power.
What you lose is speaker area to “move the air”, as some people say is important to them, but that is not the point of monitors at all. Plus you have a sub if you really want that.
I think you will also like the effect on gaming

Yeah weird, I wonder if it is a european market thing?
I did get mine “used”, but it was packaged in the box with the original materials. Maybe the previous owner added cables or something.
