Upgrade Day! Anyone Else Upgrading?

The guy that really said “Do not forget to order cables” was Australian… then went on to describe the type of power cord.

I put some flatwounds on my 4 string Bongo, didn’t really like them. Today, I picked up a set of Ernie Ball Cobalts, I’ll put them on tomorrow or the next day!

NOOOOO! :joy:. Bongo loves slash and dash with rounds no flats.

There’s a guy who wants to trade his John Myung Signature Bongo. I’m very tempting, but I don’t know how I’d fell about a 6 string on a 5 string space. And what’s up John, no purple?

Oh gawd… that’s one of my concerns on their location.

Was thinking of putting them behind the screens… but on that corner where the big screen is, it would make it hard to reach… so perhaps just to the right of the image and one on the left, as those places are of easy access!

You are right, I never liked the flats on it! I have the nice happy rounds on it now!

Mine is a HS Piezo, gimmick? Maybe, but find an opportunity to let it out to play and it just shines. Like and acoustic bass with no drawbacks.

Beautiful! You had to show me that, right? Right after I first saw this, I had to go look at Reverb!

HS piezo is pretty rare. And this one is also limited edition.

Speaking about rare how about a neck through Stingray.

I picked up this Squier VM Jazz Bass recently at a garage sale. Person selling it didn’t have an amp to plug it in to. Negotiations got him down to $100US. Got it home, plugged in and the pots were cooked. Scratchy and bad hum. Found that DiMarzio had a sweet J Bass harness and control plate all wired up, short of soldering in the pickups. Next was a set of Fender Pure Vintage '66 Jazz Bass pickups. Man, what a difference!!

Oh WOW. Congratulations. Please post a review-the good bad and the ugly.

I have the P7. My colour is the same but my neck is not roasted. My preamp and pick ups are different than the V8. You got a case with yours. Lucky you! I did not get a case when I bought mine in Canada. I find my bass well balanced but heavy-this is the only bass I have owned. My only complaint is a screw on the top of neck pick up where I rest my thumb -it digs into my thumb. My teacher really likes my bass and especially the feel of the neck. I did a bit of research on a few brands. I am very happy with my purchase, but will trade it for a Schecter CB-4

Get a finger ramp and you’ll love it. It’s different than a thumb rest. I love my ramps. Here’s a flat one but in general I like my ramps with radius as they are very comfortable.

I never knew there was such a thing. I will look into them. Thanks @Al1885

I just put a 3D printed ramp on my Kala UBass. It m was delivered today. I couldn’t believe I paid $239 for it. They said it was blemished but I couldn’t find any. The case is absolutely top notch.

That’s exactly what I need! Can’t find something like that in Germany though.

@BozzerWolf - you have a 3d printer, right? :slight_smile:

If he could send me the file I’ll print them for you. Same goes to you @Linda I’m just not good at the CAD. I have the prosumer desktop level CNC that can do wood but the software part is kinda intimidating for me.

I’m sure like everything else once I’m committed to doing it, it’ll be a piece of cake :joy:

I was thinking of convincing @BozzerWolf to print it for me (as he lives in Germany too, albeit the southern Redneck region) … just need the file (from you?).
