It’s not! I just called it a Big Star song because it’s about Chilton.

Now that I think about it there are some sound similarities there too though

I have revisited a few songs I printed the tab for when I first got my bass. I haven’t looked at them in months, so its fun to see how I can handle them now. Already done Rock You Like a Hurricane, now I am having another crack at Sweet Home Chicago-Blues Brothers, and I Won’t Back Down by Tom Petty. I still may not get around to recording them, but we shall see
Oh, and some Muuuuuuuuse!

I was thinking about putting ‘Knights of Cydonia’ on the list … LOL ( sucker for punishment )

I’m working on smoothing out all of Exogenesis now so I can record it. All 3 in one 1 take.

“Losing My Religion” was a sneakier line than I thought, especially trying to gig it.

The bass line seems to alternate between leading and lagging the progression, and for a few key parts being in sync with the vocals takes priority.

Working on ‘I can dream’ by Skunk Anansie.

I was very pleased to finally (just about) get the finger twister riff at full speed  Took me some effort but needs a lot more work yet.

I fell into that The Warning rabbit hole… and now … I am lost in it.

Working on ‘Choke’

This is my 92% speed practice

sounding good…what tuning do you play it in?
I was sorta learning this a while ago but the original tuning is half step down on a fiver I believe, so I have to tune my BEAD down half a step to play this song (as I have no 5 string) = too much hassle
doing the little run across the strings in the chorus smoothly at speed is the bit that gets me

Its Drop D … so DADG  for a 4 str …
Here is the tab I used for it … its such a fun song

That tab is meant to be played on 4 string

Try it out!

Thanks I might try it just to play the song, but I generally don’t like conversions as they often ruin the fingering
e.g. 5 string 1/2 step down chorus run :+1:
5 string

4 string drop D tab chorus run :-1:

Still looking forward to hearing you play it at full speed anyway

Look at the revisions … that was MY edit

I don’t have a 5 str … ( yet … LOL ) This is the best tab for 4 str for this song you will get

yeah if you don’t have a fiver or a BEAD 4 string its the way to go
I just need to retune my BEAD bass and learn it myself
