Or … get another bass… LOL
I love how people, to this day, still misinterpret this as a love song
Perfect capture of agonized desperation in a very dysfunctional relationship
I need to do this tune… I have lived it … ALL.
WOW…
not a love song…
You are comparing a 5 str run to a 4 str run … seriously…
the run on 4str needs to be that way in Drop D
Play it…
For reals.
I’m torn between practising My Girl for the 50 songs challenge, or the Gary Moore I promised myself (Too Tired, which seems very apt lately!)
Also I need to finish 'Don’t Break My Heart Again- Whitesnake.
At 130bpm this is causing me some frustration. I’m almost there though (92% speed)!
Little confused by this reply
um yes that was what I doing
this was my point
Love “Anything, Anything” and it looks like a great plucking speed exercise, will have to start on that one. Great suggestion.
This for our next rehearsal:
John Mayer’s pop stuff does nothing for me, but, damn, he can play the blues! The cat has some serious chops. He’s a player, for damn sure.
New song that I just started working on this afternoon - Joe Jackson - Is She Really Going Out With Him
I’ve known this song for years and it has a prominent bass line in the verse that didn’t sound too difficult, but I’ve recently started to become more aware of Graham Maby.
The verse and chorus aren’t so bad, but then the bridge comes in and suddenly it’s jumping around in the double-digit-numbered frets. It makes sense harmony-wise (of course it does) but was a bit of a surprise–and will be a challenge to learn–to jump up to 10-12-14 frets on multiple strings and bouncing down to 7 and 8 frets in between… I think part of it is that my brain just kind of locks up when it sees the double-digit fret numbers on a tab and says “that’s too hard” before I even start trying it.
But that’s what practicing is for, right? And maybe this is the song that gets my brain to realize that the 10th fret is right next to the 9th and isn’t scary.
I am STILL working on Money-Pink Floyd.
Working on this today as an addition to the set list. Fun.
Working on the next in my ‘The Warning’ rabbit hole…
This is an 83% speed run to get used to the flow / bass line ( which will be BUSY AF at full speed! )
I love the groove to this tune Yer gonna nail it!
The Warning are SO good, they even sound great slowed down. Keep them coming (the covers, but I assume you knew what I meant ).
Another one for my LIST of I want to play!
So many songs from them I want to do ( need a 5 str tho for most … lol … )
Good thing I have one, and a second one (fretless) being built.
You should get into some of these… their songs are seriously fun!
