I visited there, and although def worth the trip and amazing - I bought nothing of interest. A tuner I think. I don’t go much for the standard offerings, and I like used/vintage much more - but so so worth a visit.

Clearly you have not seen their warehouse, it’s still on my bucket list. :joy:

It’s definitely dangerous. I’m in there regularly and I never know what I’m going to find in the used shop. I walked in one day and found this gorgeous Rickenbacker 4004 in the used shop. I’ve seen some amazing used stuff come through. That’s more dangerous than the new stuff for me.

Check out this bass that arrived to me from my distant homeland a few days ago!
It’s a Dean Sledgehammer 5. It has a lot of history; I bought it for about $300 in 2010 when I was young and (very poorly) playing in a metal band.
It has rewired electronics for passive/active mode switching and a Seymour Duncan humbucker (they were called BassLine back then) instead of the stock one.
I’ve played gigs with it in many cities, dropped it many times, somehow lost a couple of screws on the bridge, had no idea how to set it up, and it always sounded terrible in the mix because I loved to crank up the mids, but I loved this instrument. Then our band broke up, I started traveling a lot for work after graduating, and eventually thought bass playing was a thing of the past.
But 12 years later, I decided to go back and learn to play properly, and I remembered this bass. I spent a ton of money shipping it, took it to a luthier, put new strings on it, and oh my god, what a beast this is. I saw online that it’s called “The Poor Man’s Warwick Thumb.”
I plan to use it for low tunings and extreme heavy music to relive my years with this instrument

Let’s suppose one’s significant other was in a foreign country. Said significant other bought a bass today on one’s behalf. One won’t get one’s paws on the new bass anytime soon as one is overseas on a job.

Does today count as ‘new bass day’ or is it only official when one returns home and is able to apply paws to bass?

Asking for a mate, like……..

One would congratulate another when one add a bass to one’s collection, :joy:

In that case, one’s wife is in Tokyo and yesterday paid a visit to the lefty specialist that one made multiple purchases from last month. One’s wife picked up another bass at one’s request and will fly home with it tomorrow.

I should point out that one’s wife made it abundantly clear that if one ever asks her to bring a bass home from Japan again, one’s wife will grab one’s plums and drag them over one’s head.

Sorry, it’s not clear what you’re asking.

Do you mean posting in this thread? If so, definitely.

If you mean in the forum, absolutely.

Being new to the forum, pop over to this thread to tell everyone about yourself and your bass journey:
